Beautiful bronze Buddha in Rattanakosin style from Thailand, mid 20th century. This Buddha stands on a detailed 4-part throne, the top of which is a lotus base. Height: 60 cm Weight: 4.5 kg The Buddha figure is richly decorated with royal robes and a high crown, which is missing the tip. The original surface has had a subsequent layer of golden paint, probably to cover missing gold leaves worn over time. A number is inscribed on the back. He holds an alms-offering bowl in his hands to remind of the good karma one gets, when giving to those in need. Handmade and cast according to the "lost wax" method, where all details are first carved out of wax, then coated with clay according to the figure.
