PEPITAS nativas de PLATA y COBRE "estilo mestizo" un clásico americano con etiquetas antiguas - Altura: 5.3 cm - Ancho: 3.4 cm- 171 g - (1)

This specimen is a beautiful historic example of the so called "half breed" copper silver combos that the Kearsarge mine produced from the late 19th century to the mid to early 20th century before it was ultimately closed in 1956. This piece in particular is an excellent very hefty and robust oval shaped roughly crystallized nugget with a natural dark patina featuring a great balance of both metals, unlike in other similar specimens where copper is more prevalent, the piece actually being split right down the middle along the display face into both of the species. In my opinion, the aesthetics are on point, having a really nice old classic mineral specimen look to it, and also, the size is noteworthy as most of the big ones were smelted down. The piece is likely the result of natural tumbling of mined and accidentally discarded ore, but since this piece does not have clear chisel or tool marks that I have seen, in other similar examples, and as far as I am concerned, these sometimes came about from the natural erosion of the copper deposits, I am uncertain about whether to consider it a natural nugget or not. Also, it is worth mentioning the extensive provenance provided along with the specimen totaling four lables of diferent uk based collectors who's names and information are listed below. - An original typewriten Richard W. Barstow green lable (not from his personal collection) who has a byographycal entry on the mineralogial record page (1947-1982) - A Dr. jhon dayton lable - A John A.V. finman lable -A TVM minerals lable
