Isn’t it crazy to think that up until pretty recently they produced only 20,000 to 30,000 litres of Kilkerran every year? While the capacity of Glengyle (which is where Kilkerran is produced) sits at a very comfortable 750,000 litres, the distillery shares its staff and malting floor with Springbank. They’ve never ever come close to hitting max capacity and they don’t plan to either. For example, in 2021 the distillery was only in production between September and December. Mashing five times a week, they produced around 100,000 litres (according to the Malt Whisky Yearbook 2022). This lot is offered by a professional seller, therefore the bottle that you receive may be different from the one displayed in the picture, but the condition will be identical.
