The Koomote mask represents the face of a young woman in Noh theater, embodying youthful femininity and grace—a classic motif in Noh performances, reflecting beauty and elegance. Master Kosaka Ayayuki, hailing from Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture (1941 – 1997), began his journey in woodcarving under the guidance of his brother at the Takimura Sculpture Studio. His distinguished career was marked by the establishment of his own studio, accolades such as the prestigious Art Public Opinion Prize, and inclusion in the top 20 artists of Japan's art community.
