This is a wonderful piece of work that depicts a realistic carp using wood carving and painting.
"日展Nitten" is an exhibition of Japanese art that has been held since 1908.
A venerable exhibition that has established the Japanese Prime Minister's Award,
The artist selected for this award is Haruichi Konfuji.
This work is from the early Showa period.
It's very old. There are unnoticeable scratches and chips.
However, it does not detract from the atmosphere of the work.
