This painting serves as an antique gift, embodying the spirit of its era. Painting was created in 1974. The painting depicts Lenin and Grigory Ivanovich Petrovsky. Petrovsky was one of the founders of the Cheka and the Police, and a prominent figure in the Bolshevik regime. A close associate of Lenin and Stalin, he was known for his opposition to the aspirations of the Ukrainian people and supported the Stalinist policy of integrating independent Soviet republics into the RSFSR. About the Author: Vladimir Kalistratovich Samokhin, born in 1938, is a distinguished painter who graduated with a gold medal from the Moscow Art School in 1957, and from the Kiev State Art Institute in 1965, where his thesis was a "Portrait of General Designer O.K. Antonov." His teachers included prominent figures such as I.N. Shtilman, L.I. Chichkan, K.D. Trokhimenko, V.T. Vyrodova-Gauthier, and V.I. Zabashta. Samokhin worked predominantly in the traditional realistic style characteristic of the Ukrainian academic school of painting. His work spans various genres including subject painting, portrait, and landscape. Since 1966, he has been teaching at the State Art Gymnasium named after T.G. Shevchenko and became a member of the National Union of Artists in 1974. His works have been featured in numerous exhibitions at the city, republican, international, and personal levels. Samokhin's paintings are held in art museums across Ukraine, as well as in galleries and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, and Greece. Dimensions: 150 x 100 cm.
