Very nice pictures from a album probably coming from Yokohama atelier, founded by Felice Beato -1860-1910. The pictures were part of a japanese album probably in Yokohama Shashin. The artists working in Yokohama mood were able to color photographic prints by hand, meticulously applying paint to the tiniest of surfaces in order to accurately convey the richness of the environments they captured. The results of this highly disciplined practice were exquisite hand-colored albumen prints virtually indistinguishable from actual color photography. Perfect in colors and definitions, the subjects are rare.
