Chinese porcelain crackle ware vase –China- early 20th Century
On offer is a good quality vase with a decoration in underglaze blue, depicting a scholar teaching 2 boys, in the garden. The handles are made in the shape of Pixiu. On the shoulder of the vase there are 4 chilongs modelled. Marked at the underside with a 4 character seal mark. Excellent composition with blue white decoration together with dark glazed and incised wide bands around the top, shoulder and bottom of the vase. Between the decoration there are spaces with subtle brown craquele. Provenance: From a private Dutch collection from Noord Holland province.
Date: end of Qing period.
Size: This vase measures 30cm in height.
Condition: Excellent! The 5 “chips” at the rim are original and purposefully applied before the firing process. Please see pictures. No hairlines.
