Superb nautilus fossil (polished) with magnificent flaming red opal highlights. This piece was first polished then finely handcrafted by experts. The edges of the nautilus were delicately worked to bring out the relief of the shell. This process took many hours of work. Fantastic collector's piece!
Very interestingly, the part you see cracked in the photos is the original breakage that occurred before fossilisation, when the animal was alive.
