Pocket Tokyo Ikko Narahara cleo/1997/Japanese/238*293*15 Ikko Narahara Photographs: The Promised Journey to Spain, a large-scale exhibition held at the Setagaya Art Museum from 2019-2020, is still fresh in the memory of the leading Japanese photographer, Ikko Narahara (1931-2020). Ikko Narahara passed away on January 20, 2020, one week before the end of the exhibition. While many postwar photographers were active in Japan, Narahara was among the first to venture abroad in the 1960s, taking photographs in Europe and the United States. His works of "Japan" and "Japanesque," which he reexamined from a foreign perspective, have also been highly acclaimed. This book consists of color works taken by Narahara, who returned to the life of the naked eye for nearly three years around 1990 to fight an illness, and after his return, he made a fresh start as a photographer by photographing "Tokyo".
