Type of jewel: Vintage antique diamond pendant so called croix de Jeannette Condition: In a good state, particularly considering the jewel's age. Style: Vintage antique Era: ca. 1850 Material: 18K red gold and details in silver (touchstone tested) Technique: The rose cuts are set on foil. This is a ancient technique that was used to bring the lustre of the diamonds to its best quality. This is being done by placing in the closed mounting under the diamond a highly polished cone of silver foil. Extra information: This type of pendant is typically Belgian late 18th till mid-19th century. They are called 'à la Jeannette'. Diamond(s): Twenty senaille cuts. A senaille is a simplified rose cut diamond, a small diamond chip with perhaps a few polished facets. We do not have the weight of these diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to senailles. All diamonds in our vintage and antique jewellery are verified by the IJGC-lab to confirm whether they are natural or lab-grown. We do not offer any pieces with lab-grown diamonds.
