Renée's portraits offer a new and unique vision of the female body, freed from all constraints. “Through her photography, the body, desire and power of women laid bare by Renée Jacobs, it is her way of loving to transform into a lifestyle, women who discover the body with passion, eros and emancipation” (Simona Marani, ELLE Italia) 18 Through the dual prism of sensuality and poetry, the artist reveals a personal vision of women while appealing to the viewer's imagination to understand the story behind each photo. Renée Jacobs' work is charged with eroticism, which positions her as one of the most recognized female nude photographers of our time. Although the female nude, dating back to art history, has been a favorite subject of both male artists and the public, the work of lesbian artists has been largely ignored. With the advent of the women's and gay liberation movements in the 1970s, a new generation of artists emerged. “You have to see his female nudes as activism.” R J: “Seeing the eroticism of other women helped me understand and appreciate mine” (Les Rencontres cévenoles de la Photographie)
