Lego - Bricklink Design Program (BDP) - 910011 - Alemania

An absolute rarity. The "1950's Diner" designed by Lego Fan "James Alan Cox" from the Lego Bricklink Design Program (3. round). Worldwide only 10.000 pieces of this set were produced. What is the BrickLink Designer Program? In the BrickLink Designer Program, also known as “BDP” for short, LEGO models designed by fans are produced in relatively small numbers by the BrickLink platform, which is now part of the LEGO Group, using original LEGO bricks and financed through crowdfunding. For the current BDP 2021, 31 LEGO Ideas designs were invited, which were able to collect 10,000 votes in recent years, but were not officially implemented. Some of these models are now getting a second chance! The designs are revised by the fan designers so that they only use available bricks from the current LEGO range and are built stable enough. No new stone-color combinations are made for the program, so the BDP sets do not contain any exclusive stones. For this purpose, new decorations are generally solved with stickers, no prints are used. With the BrickLink Designer Program, the LEGO Group allows some fan designs to become reality that would probably have been too niche for implementation as an official LEGO set or that LEGO thought for other reasons that they would not be successfully implemented as an official set could. The crowdfunding The crowdfunding takes place in three rounds, in which 7-10 projects compete against each other. Fans can support their favorites by pre-ordering the set and the first 5 sets per round that reach the crowdfunding target of 3,000 pre-orders will be implemented as BDP sets. Unfortunately, the other sets cannot be implemented and only the digital instructions for these models are offered. Each of the rounds lasts 6 weeks, during which a maximum of 10,000 copies per set can be pre-ordered. Only 1 copy per set can be pre-ordered to ensure that as many fans as possible get their favorite set. If the limit is reached, no further orders can be placed. There are also regional contingents so that a set can be sold out in one country before the maximum of 10,000 sets is reached.
