A superb Delft pottery dish, measuring circa 35.5cm in diameter and weighing circa 1.1 Kg, decorated in cobalt blue under tin glaze with scattered flowers in a central roundel and six cartouches, within a scalloped rim. Marked to the underside with IMES maker´s mark of Johan Mesch, the mark of the owner of Plateelbakkerij ´t Fortuyn from 1661-1674 and thereafter continued by his widow until 1691. Ref: A similar plate is in the permanent collection of Kunstmuseum Den Haag, inventory #0400044. Condition: Remarkably good for 17th century Delftware. The usual rim abrasions, small enamel loss, no other significant damages or repairs. This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
