Unusual beautiful antique bangle / folding bracelet In perfect condition, this antique bracelet was handmade by a silversmith. The wide bangle is hallmarked 3 times with a symbol hallmark - see photos. It is a French hallmark with a crab / cancer. This hallmark was used between 1838 - 1919. The bangle bracelet was created during this period. The pattern on two of the motif plates seems lightly Oriental / Arabic, calling to the mind the work of silversmiths from the French colonial time period. The stark lines call Arabic letters to mind. Or it is simply the exotic feeling which characterises the pattern and which prevailed during the era of the 19th century. A filigree masterpiece in perfect condition. Only the motif plates were polished by hand. We purposely left the black patina on the base coat. But if you would prefer it, you can dip the bracelet in a silver bath, but then it will lose its antique charm. As mentioned earlier: an unusually excellent condition without dents or shaky hinges.
