Beautiful Minerva Fa. JOH. E. Post Amsterdam stopwatch in excellent condition This is a great looking Minerva stopwatch in near NOS condition from the 1960s era. The stopwatch is hand wound and runs great. The pusher beside the crown makes the hand fly back to its starting point and operates flawlessly, the hand accurately returns with a quick snap to the 12 o'clock position. The dial is signed Minerva as well as "Fa. Joh. E. Post Amsterdam". Fa. Joh. E. Post Amsterdam was the importer and until the 1960s, the watches were always signed like this. Later, they changed it to "POST Amsterdam" and later still they moved to Santpoort (also in the Netherlands) and they signed the dials with "Minerva Nederland, Santpoort" The stopwatch has a Minerva movement, signed "Minerva Watch Co." on the bridge as well as with "Minerva" and their Logo on the gears Minerva is a very well known Swiss watch manufacturer since 1887. Know for excellent pocket watches and stopwatches and later also for great wrist watches. Their quality is excellent and they are especially renowned for their chronograph watch models. This stopwatch is a great example of the build quality of Minerva, it is sturdy, operates really well and beautiful to see. Everything just radiates good engineering and quality. Stopwatches like this really remind me of both the racing times as well as the athletics sport events that have been timed over the years before the digital era, I can just imagine some racing leader timing rounds, or a coach timing his champions progress :-) The stopwatch is in an exceptional good condition, no damage, hardly any wear. Dial, hands and hour markers are super crisp and clear. Visually stunning and all functions work well. The watch resets accurately to zero Case is neat and without damage.
