About the artist – Shinji Ando (安藤真司)
Is a respected Japanese printmaker born in 1948, known for his highly detailed etchings that blend botanical subjects with fantasy-like surreal atmospheres. He studied at the Musashino Art University (Tokyo), one of Japan's most prestigious art academies.
Mr. Ando began exhibiting in the early 1970s and soon developed a distinct personal style, combining traditional intaglio techniques—etching, aquatint, mezzotint—with modern, dreamlike imagery. His works have been shown in major print exhibitions in Japan and internationally, including:
CWAJ Contemporary Print Show, Tokyo
Japan Print Association Exhibitions
International Print Biennales in Europe and the United States
Numerous solo and group exhibitions in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya
Collectors value Ando for the technical refinement of his plates, the subtle colour gradations, and his ability to merge realism with a poetic, almost mystical natural world.
The print will be send between hardboard and carton plates to prevent any damage in transport. Sending nearly worldwide, insured with tracking post.
