Brevetto pepper mill pheasant & wild boar head, Italy, ca. 1900
Very rare pepper mill of oak wood and silver plated ornaments of the brand from Brevetto from Italy from around 1900. It has a very detailed pheasant on the lid and one wild boar head where the pepper comes out. The carousel lever is also very detailed. The foot has very nice detailed legs.
The whole is in very clean condition, the handle of the pepper mill contains a crack and there are light oxidation spots present on the silver plated parts, which altogether do not interfere with considering the age of this kitchen utensil.
On the bottom is a very hard to read sticker marked Brevetto 27803.
There are shakers of this kind in circulation with a music box, however, these date from the 1970s
