German wall clock / saw clock - 1960s
For sale is an old Black Forest Clock, also know as a Vorderzappler,
a rare curiosity among clocks.
The rack clock slides down the bar under its own weight.
Well aligned with the wall, it works the 36 hours.
Then it has to be moved upwards again by hand.
The clock does not need a winding key!
The movement is purely mechanical and functions flawlessly.
The board on which the clock is fixed was hand carved.
On the top is a deer, on the left is a fox, and on the right is a hare.
Anno 1750 is written on the dial.
The time is displayed correctly,
the accuracy can be discerned by the pendulum.
The movement was recently cleaned and oiled by a watchmaker.
The clock isn't new,
the colour on the housing is worn in a few places.
Dimensions: 74 x 16 x 9 cm
