Mythique Alsacien service Illustrated by Henri Loux around 1900, multiple editions have existed, hence the evolution of the signatures from the oldest to the most recent in photos 2, 3, 4. Illustrated by Henri Loux for the pottery works of Sarreguemines, he created 36 different decorations illustrating the dinnerware known as "Obernai". This was originally produced by the pottery works Utzschneider & Cie in Sarreguemines. After the pottery works were bought up by the Fenal family in 1978, also shareholders in the Lunéville-Saint-Clément pottery works, the production of this decoration has since been carried out by the latter. These illustrations mainly depict country and village scenes with timbered houses which were typical of Alsace around 1900. The success of this dinnerware is such that it exclipsed the rest of his body of work as an illustrator and watercolourist.
