If you’re looking for a REAL CLASSIC SONY TRANSISTOR RADIO from the EVOCATIVE 1950’s then you would be hard pushed to find a better example! the radio comes from the electrotechnics museum in Paris, has an original SONY handset, headphones with the Sony signature and a Sony bag with instructions The legendary Sony TR-712-B was first manufactured in 1958 and was known as the ‘Handy Radio’ due to its portability and battery power. The radio on offer is in AMAZING CONDITION considering that it’s 60 years old!. The Ivory Plastic Case is in excellent overall condition and still retains the original gloss finish. The radio is working as it should bringing in many stations on at loud and crystal clear volume but reception is limited on SW as there are no SW stations in my area. The interior of the radio is also in excellent condition and the original back is still showing the specifications printed in white lettering in as good a condition as the day this radio came out of the factory. This really is a STUNNING RADIO from the 50’s and the look reflects that Amazing Era. The ‘2 BAND’ Sony Badge on the speaker grill is in perfect condition as is the ’SONY’ logo printed into the dial area. The chrome dial knob is in excellent condition as is the dial printing.
