A wonderful blue-green and gold tripod lamp by Dutch designer Louis Kalff.
Very well designed with clean, modern lines.
The top and main parts are in aluminum, the middle casing is a very old kind of plastic.
Louis Christiaan Kalff (1897 - 1976) is a designer and architect.
In 1926 he starts working for design agency Philips. In 1929 he leads the Light Advise Bureau (LIBU) and remains working for Philips, to be come Art Director in 1946.
In 1958 Kalff works together with Le Corbusier for the world exhibition in Brussels.
In 1961 he supervises the building of the Evoluon (design: Kalff-de Bever), a futuristic congress centre for Philips.
