From my private collection I offer an old bottle (3 l.) Grand Manier Rouge with original pouring spout Bottle has always been in own possession en has a very goed condition see photos. Grand Marnier is a liqueur first created in 1881 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle. It is a mixture consisting of adulterated alcohol, old cognac from the best six Crus of the Charente (Cognac region) and spirits of exquisite bitter orange peel, coming from exotic countries. The used orange peel is that of Citrus Bigaradia, a special kind of perfumed with a high concentration of natural oils. Picking the oranges is done by hand. They only grow in tropical regions, after a long and dry season full sun. Only the husks are used the best quality and dried in the Caribbean sun. Then, the peels immersed in stainless steel tanks, where they are mixed with a blended neutral alcohol of 65% vol. The macerated peel are then burnt down. The first afstoking happens slowly. Being used only the heart of the obtained distillate. Afterwards a second afstoking place. The Assembly is done at the Château de Bourg in the Charente.
