Very nice and extremely rare English MK2 helmet used by the PIB (Prinses Irene Brigade, see below) with original netting still attached. The helmet liner is dated 1942 and the helmet 1941; the insignia is of the hand-painted type and shows a fantastic age patina! Great helmet, really difficult to find - only a handful are known.
The Royal Dutch Brigade 'Princess Irene' (PIB) was a Dutch army unit that came from Dutch troops were able to escape to England in May 1940 and made up Engelandvaarders and Dutch from abroad to them by the Brigade service fulfilled or voluntarily in the Brigade reported.
