Paul Tillard worked in the war for the communist magazine Regards. Since the invasion in 1940, he started working for the resistance. He was arrested in August 1942. Interned in Compiegne , then in Romainville , he was deported in April 1943 to the Mauthausen concentration camp , then in March 1944 to Ebensee . Upon his release in May 1945 he began to write his testimony: his book, Mauthausen is published in the year at Social Editions , with a preface by Jean-Richard Bloch.
This book is very rare and contains many shocking and horrific photo's of Mauthausen concentration camp. Very rare and historic item!
