Manufacturer: Royal Typewriter Company, New York, USA Serial no: X 487184 This is the first version of the Royal 10. It has two glass panels on each side with a facetted edge. The later version had 1 glass panel on each side. Through these glass panels, you can see the mechanism. The glass panels are facet cut. The frame is made of cast iron. The keys have a layer of glass and the space bar a layer of wood. The Royal 10 was the most solid and sturdiest type of machine on the market at the time.
