Orologio a coda frisone con cappuccio Biedemeier Groningen - Legno, rovere - XIX secolo

Antique Frisian long-case clock with raised bonnet. (1830) Unique about this clock is the raised bonnet. This was done in order to have some additional volume on the walls in the taller town houses (e.g. in Groningen). Has a wonderful stately appearance. The movement shows the moon phases and date on the dial, together with the silver-plated dial, the four seasons. It is an impressive clock. Oak case has a beautiful mahogany-look patina, unique thing about this clock is that it has a Biedermeier appearance. The Biedermeier period is a period the began around 1815. The crest has had a small restoration. A bit of decoration has disappeared around the glass of the door. Please view the photo. Clock still has the original glass. The clock has been serviced/oiled by a professional clockmaker (no revision). Striking mechanism: number of hours on a heavy bell, first quarter 1x on large bell. Half hour number of hours to come on small bell, third quarter 1x on small bell Option to easily replace the large bell with a gong (softer sound) This clock comes with a tinderbox and coal tongs, please view the photo. Due to its size and fragility, the clock will need to be collected near Deventer, the Netherlands.
