Elly Strobach Königová (1908-2002) - Royal Dux - Statuetta/e, Art déco woman bathing with blue towel (1)
After graduating from the State Ceramics School in Teplice, in the 30's Elly Strobach Königová (1908-2002) began working as a designer at the Royal Dux porcelain factory.
In addition to her plump children with a sweet and friendly expression, she become very popular in the art world for refined dancers and refined nudes.
This statue was designed in the 1930s and is signed by the artist on the base.
Height: 25 cm.
The Royal Dux mark, visible under the base, was used by the factory between 1912 and 1939.
The statue is in good condition in relation to its age but there are three small defects (see photos), which do not compromise the complete beauty of the piece:
1. slight chipping on the elbow;
2. chipping over the neck;
3. chipping on the right foot.
