Germania - Johannes Wundes Solingen - 1560-1610 - Rapier - Spada
Beautiful sword dating from the 16th century with a stabbing blade.
The master's mark in the form of the king's head, hammered into both sides of the blade, is attributed to the Solinger master smith Johannes Wundes (1560-1610).
The hilt of this sword is equipped with a few side and parry brackets which are counter curved as are common for rapiers.
This type comes from Southern Germany to Northern Italy (I believe)
The handle is made of metal and wood bound with wire (the wire possibly an old replacement) and is closed off by a round pommel.
The sword measures 90.5 cm in length.
the sword is in excellent condition for its age there are no loose parts everything stands firm. of course, there are age-related marks and stains.for exact details please see pictures.
