Orologio militare vintage RECORD W.W.W., anni '40
Military watch (men) with hand wound mechanism, luminous hands and ditto quarter points and 5 minutes indicators. Black dial with 'broad arrow' symbol and separate round second hand.
Rather rare military watch in good vintage condition. Runs well. Light signs of wear. Nickel chromed case. Beautiful patina. Diameter 35.9 mm including crown. New black strap, 1.8 cm wide, exterior canvas, interior leather. Length strap, including case, approx. 22.5 cm.
On the back of the case there is also the 'broad arrow' symbol with engravement W.W.W. with reg.nr. L 265536 544383.
With the entry: W.W.W.: By the end of the Second World War the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) formulated a number of specifications that watches for the armed forced needed to comply with. These watches were to be known under the name W.W.W .; depending on the source "Wrist Watch Waterproof" or "Waterproof Wristlet Watch". Eventually, a dozen (now famous) brands fulfilled these requirements: Record was one of the first.
Service March 2016 (new spring, new packing and new glass).
