Riprod Vietata CC Art 2598 - Very Rare Hand Painted Italian Decanter.
Hand painted Italian Decanter. An original piece of art. These were issued as containers for special liqueur wines (vino liquoroso) traded under various names, one of which was Borghini Lacrima Christi (or "Tears of Christ"). They date to the late 1960s and early 1970s. There was large range of novelty shapes including ships, pipes, birds and so on, but this ewer is probably the most artistic of the range.
The decanter is marked with a stamping of a crest with a crown and leaves and the script "hand painted made in Italy" "Riprod. Vietata, CC Art 2598". The porcelain is marked with a M with a crown above it (the Mollica family?)
Condition: It is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. only the stopper is missing.
Measurement: Height: 28cm , Width with Handle: 16cm, Width with no handle: 12 cm
Delivery: will be carefully packaged and sent with registered mail
