Beautiful wooden cha'dansu 茶箪笥 (tea cabinet) in 2 sections, with many intricate details. Fully cleaned and waxed.
The frame of this cabinet is made of precious ‘Keyaki’ wood (Zelkova - Japanese oak). The panels of the sliding doors and the drawer faces are veneered with striking burl wood. The whole varnished in a warm deep brown hue.
Configured with a large pair of sliding doors with faceted glass windows, a pair of sliding doors and five drawers of different size.
The glass sliding shows a charming interior featuring arched hinged doors, sliding doors, drawers, a glass door leading to a silver leaf-covered compartment, and two display areas complemented by lattice-work windows over matching silver leaf. One display area boasts an S-shaped shelf. Some doors showcase an inlaid criss-cross plaited bamboo design. The intricate bronze handles and thumb grips add a touch of elegance, with some shaped like V's and others resembling chrysanthemum flowers.
The base finished with a fine undulating rim.
