Very fine landscape set "Four seasons", signed - including tomobako - Nanao Eiho (1885-1962) - Giappone
Nanao Eiho was born in Terayokocho, Hachinohe City in 1885. Studied Japanese painting from his grandfather Nanao Tsuyama. In 1911, he was selected for the Japan Art Association Exhibition and the Nihon Painting Association Exhibition. He exhibited it at the Meiji Painting Society Exhibition in 1915, and his work was purchased by the Imperial Household Ministry. He painted the sky view painting of Emperor Showa's visit to Hachinohe in 1945. He passed away in 1962 at the age of 77. After his death, the Nanao Eiho posthumous exhibition was held in 1980, the special exhibition ``The World of Nanao Eiho'' was held at the Hachinohe City Museum of Art in 1986, and in 1989, a collection of his works ``Nanao Eiho's World'' was published.
