2017 Tapada do Chaves Tinto - Alentejo Reserva - 5 Bottiglie (0,75 L)
Herdade da Maroteira is located at the foot of Serra D’Ossa, and extends over 540 hectares, belonging to the same Anglo-Portuguese family for 5 generations, since the mid-19th century. At that time, Robert Reynolds invested in the Alentejo cork oak forest to satisfy the needs of the Port Wine industry in northern Portugal, and for about 150 years, the focus of the property's production was cork and cattle. Only in the year 2000, Philip Mollet, current owner and manager of the estate, revolutionized the farm's strategy and planted vines. Since then, the estate has produced excellent Alentejo wines based on the preferred grape variety, Syrah.
The vineyard is spread over 15 hectares planted in clay-limestone soils, giving the wines the genuine character of the Alentejo.
