This is antique engraving with etching made by Bernard Picart. After Peter Paul Rubens. Draftsman: Nattier, Jean-Marc. Published in Paris, France, 1710 years. Allegory of the reign of Marie de Medici or the Council of God. The Olympian gods are gathered on the clouds, including Jupiter and Juno enthroned on the right and presiding over the meeting, Juno placing a yoke on two doves, as are Cupid, Saturn and Mercury. The couples standing behind, Harmony and Peace are on the left. Pan rear view, reclining center right, Minerva and Apollo center foreground, Mars and Venus on clouds left, Aurora in her chariot in the distance top left. The Five Vices (Discord, Rage, Fraud, Vice, Envy) are in the left foreground. Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French engraver and illustrator known for his work on religious and mythological subjects. He co-authored and illustrated the monumental publication called et Coutumes Religieuses de tous les Peuples du (Ceremonies and Religious Customs of All the Peoples of the World), which depicted various religious rituals and customs from different cultures around the world. Picart's engravings were highly regarded for their accuracy and attention to detail, and his work played a significant role in promoting cross-cultural understanding during the Enlightenment period. Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) was a highly influential Flemish Baroque painter.
