First illustrated (Frank C. Pape) edition, published in the same year as the true first (non-illustrated) edition. An entertaining, comical novel about mythical figures. Book in very good condition. Gilt decoration and lettering to front cover and spine, remains largely bright and crisp there are some stains on boards, some shelfwear, see photos as part of description. Inside bright, clean and complete. Illustrated endpapers a bit yellowed. Uncommon. Rarity.
