These screens vividly depict scenes from the Heian period imperial court. The intricate artistry captures elegantly dressed ladies in 12-layered kimono, blooming cherry trees, symbolizing the fleeting nature of life's beauty, and court bureaucrats under pine trees, representing wisdom and endurance, weaving a tapestry of historical narratives and cultural depth. Despite their age, these screens bear witness to the eras gone by, marked by wear, stains, scratches, tears, wormholes, and peeling. Notably, one screen shows a weakening seam on the left panel (as evident in the images), and some fixtures are missing. Additionally, one section of the upper wooden frame has been repaired with a different type of wood, further testifying to the screen's history and resilience.
