Kiyomizu ware - Tazza (7) - Sake bottle and Sake cup set 徳利とお猪口のセット - Porcellana
This is a set of Tokkuri (sake bottle) and Ochoko (sake cups) made from Kiyomizu ware.
Kiyomizu ware is a traditional pottery and porcelain from Kyoto, Japan, named after the Kiyomizu Temple area where it originated. Known for its vibrant colors and delicate carvings, Kiyomizu ware features translucent glazes and unique color schemes. Porcelain, the material used, becomes hard and waterproof when fired at high temperatures, resulting in a beautiful finish.
Tokkuri and Ochoko are traditional Japanese sake serving sets. Ochoko are small cups used for drinking sake, designed to enjoy the subtle changes in flavor sip by sip. Tokkuri, with a narrow neck and a wide bottom, are used to pour sake into Ochoko. During colder seasons, sake in the Tokkuri can be warmed in a hot water bath for a warm sake experience.
