Kimono’ishô’dansu 着物衣装箪笥 (cassettiera per kimono) - Legno, Metallo, legno di Paulownia/Kiri - Giappone - Periodo Mid-Shôwa (metà del XX secolo)
Elegant and completely restored tall wooden kimono’ishô’dansu 着物衣装箪笥 (cabinet of drawers for kimono) in three sections. Fully restored, cleaned and waxed in Japan.
It is made of indigenous kiri (paulownia) wood varnished in a sought after warm brown hue, a colour that we like to call ‘golden oak’.
The upper part configured with a pair of sliding doors with chrysanthemum-shaped thumb grips and a sliding lock. Opening to a display area with a shelve on the left side. Underneath, three small adjacent drawers.
The middle section with three and the bottom section with two large drawers.
The smooth-running drawers are fitted with patinated ‘warabite’-shaped black metal bail handles set on wave-shaped escutcheons, and small circular lock-plates.
The sides with retractable “pole carrying”-handles for easy transport and locking the upper parts into place.
The cabinet is very spacious and ideal for easy storage due to the many different type of compartments.
Period: Japan – Mid-Shôwa period (Mid-20th century).

Height 163.7 cm (T 45.3 cm, M 60.7 cm, B 57.7 cm), Width 94 cm, Depth 43.1 cm.
The kimono cabinet is in a very good completely resorted condition. No keys included. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
