Nicely aged -2- heavy strands of in total 78 collectible amber beads*) from the Berber region in North Africa. The beads are original made to use as tradingbeads.
The largest beads included the -- with each 2 aluminium insets, are the most collectibles !
*) The material of the "amber" style beads is Old Phenolic Resin also referred as Copal or Bakelite.
Size of the necklaces with cord 125 cm - beads only 75 cm. See for more measurements the photo's.
Total weight: 1400 grams (700 each)
Condition: good - some signs of wear and age related patina.

*) The Berbers are among the first peoples in North Africa. Their myths, legends and history cover 9,000 years, dating back to the Proto-Mediterraneans. The Berber name appeared for the first time after the end of the Roman Empire. Many Berbers are called a certain variant of the word ‘Imazighen’, possibly meaning ‘free people’ or ‘free and noble men’.
