Japanese painter of the Meiji and early Showa periods.
Born in Kyoto in 1881.
His real name was Ukichi.
Studied under Taniguchi Kohkyo.
Taught at the Kyoto College of Painting (now Kyoto City University of Arts) from 1910 to 1925.
He was active in the Bunten Exhibition and specialized in historical paintings.
Died in 1939 at the age of 59.
