Kongara Dōji, revered as one of the Eight Great Child Attendants of Fudō Myō-ō, symbolizes compassion, one of the paramount virtues in Buddhism. Alongside Seitaka Dōji, Kongara is part of the esteemed Fudō Myō-ō's retinue, often worshipped together in the revered trio known as Fudō Sanzon for their protective prowess over the faithful. The rear of the statue proudly bears the signature of Kaihatsu Touemon, and a meticulously hand-written inscription on the base narrates its dedication: “December, Meiji 10 (1877) at Ojiya Yokochō by Kaihatsu Touemon”. This piece carries the weight of history, not just in its spiritual significance but also in its physical journey through time. Wear, dust, lacquer peel, and numerous cracks mar its surface, with evidence of restoration visible on the left arm. Its current state, as detailed in the photographs, speaks volumes of its storied past. Prospective buyers should note that the condition is as visibly captured in the photographs, and there is a possibility that surface peeling may worsen during shipment, with the chance of parts detaching. Understanding and acceptance of this pre-existing condition is requested prior to purchase. It can be inferred that there is a high probability of surface peeling occurring. Dimensions: approx. H 44 cm W 19 cm D 13 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos. However, due to differences in monitors and device displays, as well as photographic conditions, slight color variations between the photos and the actual product may occur. We ask for your understanding in advance. Thank you for your interest, and happy bidding!
