At the heart of Vhils’ work is the concept of deconstruction and construction. He repeatedly removes elements of the landscape to reveal images, bringing to light new perspectives of individuals and their relationship to their surroundings. Volcanoes are Earth's geologic architects, which destroy but also create: they have generated more than 80 percent of our planet's surface.
The Magma series comprises 30 different editions coming from the center of the earth. Burning and potent eyes add one more layer to the story that dates back millions of years, way before men and their creations on Earth.
