A gold ring with a garnet intaglio depicting a ruler's portrait from the ancient Minor Asian culture.
1st millennium AD.
In good condition. It has been cleaned, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, grinding of the garnet. Traces of use and age on its surface.
Purchased mid 90's in Paris by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market.
