Very Rare antique, Chilean ship in a bottle, 1917, museum quality item. Signed by the artist Hollander Schatzel, 1917 (notice the signature behind the plaster in the bottom). On a wooden stand with an explanatory in Spanish, brass plate. This item corresponds in style to the very few remaining similar, early 1900's, Chilean ships in a bottle. Inscriptions on the plate translates to: JUPITER GULET, 400 ton schooner, Last Liquor Smuggler from Punta Arenas, Urzuaya (Argentina) Wolf Hunter, Seals and. Nutrio in the year 1922, (C. Hollander Schatzel. Former sailing sailor). Bottle bottom marks: Roo, LJW15, JG8, High value collectible item that can be understood by those in love with the sea and the old vessels. Overall Very good condition, including the plate, normal signs of age and wear, this is more than 100 years old. Please study the pictures. The wooden base has some small repairs (glued in some parts), plate is recently polished with Brasso In some photos the ship seems distorted/wavy but this is an illusion, as it is behind glass. Size (with stand): height ~13 cm, width ~25.7 cm , depth: ~ 8.3 cm Net weight (with the stand and the plate): 733 gr. Gross weight (item+packing): ~ 980 gr. Registered post, Insured.
