Japanese Vintage & Beautiful Kimono Belt 名古屋帯 NAGOYA OBI/ Flower Fine designed Nagoya Obi for Kimono - Japan - Showa/Heisei period Nagoya Obi is the formal belt for Kimono worn like at some ceremonies. It is mainly made of silk, used gorgeous yarn. “Obi” is a wide sash that is wrapped around the waist from the top of the kimono and also it serves as a decoration. Obi is a long decorative sash to hold kimono in place and upgrades kimono itself. Recently, many Japanese people don’t wear traditional Kimono frequently, so some use beautiful obi belts as decorations in their rooms or as fabric for clothing etc. “Nagoya obi” is very compact and easy to tie because it is shorter and lighter than “fukuro obi” and it is stitched beforehand. It is mainly used for casual daily kimono such as “komon” and “tsumugi”, and mostly tied into a single-layer knot called “ichiju taiko”. Additionally. the Nagoya obi is used in many scenes, ranging from situations that require a slightly formal attire to casual fashionable kimono. Size: 1.
