1964 Campo Viejo x2, 1978 Muga x2 & 1984 Marqués Riscal x2 - Rioja Crianza/Reserva - 6 Bottiglie (0,75 L)
Lot of 6 magnificent bottles of D.O.Ca wines. Rioja, from different vintages, made and aged by 3 prestigious, internationally recognized Spanish wineries: Campo Viejo, Muga, and Marqués de Riscal.
They are presented at auction with all the typical elements of their respective market launches: perfect labels, intact capsules, original corks from their initial bottling, metal meshes and seals. They maintain a very good level of filling, after careful conservation in the cellar since their purchase (+ 50 years Campo Viejo; + 40 years Muga; + 35 years Marqués de Riscal).
“1964 Campo Viejo, Reserva”. From Bodegas Campo Viejo (1959, Logroño). Bottles purchased from the wineries themselves at the beginning of the 70s. They correspond to the legendary 1964 vintage, one of the best of the 20th century, and rated Excellent. Very classic, typically Riojan, ruby in color with copper nuances, transparent, bright, good acidity, balanced, intense, nuances of reduced fruit, and with the presence of noble wood so common in these wineries. 30 months of aging in oak barrels and 2 years in bottle racks. The grapes and percentages used were the same for the Gran Reserva and Reserva. Good scores from oenophile experts on the Internet: from 92/100 to 93/100. To drink and/or collect.
“1978 Muga, Crianza”. From Bodegas Muga (1932, Haro). Bottles purchased from a wholesale supplier of wines and liquors, during the early 80s. Transparent, bright wine, with a beautiful intense ruby, cherry red color, with soft brick nuances and orange reflections; aromas that evoke spices such as clove, vanilla and nutmeg; with acidity, harmonious, silky and persistent flavor, with a delicious presence of winey noble wood... It should be noted that the Winery manufactures and toasts its own oak barrels, in which these Crianza wines remain for 24 months; The racking is carried out naturally, by gravity, and subsequently kept for at least 1 year in bottle racks. Due to its aging of 3 years, it would be classified as Reserve in the current D.O.Ca regulation. Rioja. Varietals: Tempranillo 70%, Garnacha 20%, Mazuelo and Graciano 10%. To drink and/or collect.
“1984 Marqués de Riscal, Crianza.” From Bodegas Herederos de Marqués de Riscal (1858, Elciego). Purchased from a wholesale supplier of wines and spirits at the beginning of the 90s. Transparent, bright wine, with a beautiful ruby color with brownish nuances and copper reflections, aromas of spices and red fruit, acidity and notes of noble wood. A very classic Crianza Rioja, with the characteristic elegance of Marqués de Riscal. Varietals: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, grape used only by Marqués de Riscal thanks to its dispensation for the usual blend in the production of Rioja red wine; Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo: 50%. Graduation: 12th. To drink and/or collect.
