An elaborately cast solid silver cake server, measuring circa 28.2cm in length and weighing 92g, decorated with a central depiction of Rembrandt´s "De Nachtwacht" (The Night Watch) surrounded by a lot of neoclassical decoration over an ajour cut latticework of garlands, the twisted stem terminating in the coat of arms of Amsterdam as a finial. Stamped with German assay marks for .800 silver, probably Hanau, late 19th century.
Condition: Very good, no damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age and use.
This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
