Beautiful specimen of Gorgonocephalus from the Ligurian Sea and recovered with fishing nets at great depths.
This type of animal is very difficult to preserve because once caught they use autotomy. In this way they try to free themselves by losing part of their limbs.
This specimen grew on a fragment of anthropogenic origin that ended up on the seabed as a result of heavy swells.
As visible in the photo, gorgonian branches are also present.
Mounted on a metal stand that makes this wonder of nature can be elegantly displayed in any environment and mobile of curiosities.
