This is a beautiful silk kurotomesode, a formal kimono with 5 crests worn by married women for special occasions such as weddings. Beautiful peacock and flowers design on the hem. In Japan, the peacock is linked with a Buddhist divinity, Kannon , and carries values of goodness, kindness, love and care. This kimono is in good to very good used condition with creases, discoloration and a few (4 that I counted) small, not very conspicuous stains on the hem (pictured). The lining is clean bar a very small not very conspicuous grey mark on the collar. Please see pictures. Mitake (length shoulder to hem): ca 162cm, sleeve length (wrist to middle of collar) ca 64cm, sleeve depth 49cm, front panel width 25cm, back panel width 29cm.
